Close to my standard list for the Kabal, with the exception of the Uber Archon of doooooom to go with his new shiny paint job! I've played him this way a couple of times, and when you're able to take advantage of his nonsense it's quite ridiculous. Not something I plan on relying on, but even if all he does is scare the pants off of an opponent or two, I'll be happy with him. Besides, +1/2 Incubi or a few Nightshields thrown around aren't going to be the be-all end-all of the army.
The Blood Angels have a bit of an unorthodox hybrid between mech and jumper, particularly with the Stormraven. The choices were made with the consideration of models available/painted/assembled and what he enjoys playing with.
We're a bit light on the long-ranged antitank, and I would've preferred an MSU-style BA list from a purely competitive standpoint, but that's not to say these two lists won't mesh quite nicely together. Everything is fast and there's a reason to fear every unit (except perhaps the min-warrior venoms, but their job is wound-dumping under the radar or reserving for late objective grabbing anyways). The Stormraven, while a bit out of place when paired with the predators in his list, meshes quite well with my mech saturation and gives us some interesting options to play with via combat-squadding one of the Assault Squads for a combined suicide melta/scoring stormraven combo. With some solid play and a little bit of luck (PLEASE no double SW/IG!) we could very easily come out of this with some prize money.
Oh, and it's basically my buddy's first real tournament =)
WIN
ReplyDeleteThey did, and quite convincingly. I wish we had been able to go up against him, but that will have to wait until next time :)
ReplyDeleteJust outta curiosity, who are you? all i've got is a butt-load of numbers and letters haha
ReplyDeleteand yes, WIN.
Hopefully BatRep up sometime in the next week. Exams are currently running interference on sharing all the pics/events of the day.
