Update

So I have another list that I've come up with to contemplate, that I think is a bit more points-efficient than my Vect nonsense.  I still love Vect, and haven't counted him out, but I think this one may be better overall.

Oh, and my latest warrior with possible basing idea.

1850 Kabal of the Obsidian Sky

 Archon w/SF, PGL, Drugs, Agonizer

8x Incubi in Raider w/NS, FF
3x Trueborn w/3 Blasters in Venom w/2xCannons

10x Wyches w/2x Shardnets, Hekatrix w/Agonizer, Haywire Grenades, in Raider w/NS, FF
10x Wyches w/2x Shardnets, Hekatrix w/Agonizer, Haywire Grenades, in Raider w/NS, FF
5x Warriors w/Blaster in Venom w/2xCannons
5x Warriors w/Blaster in Venom w/2xCannons

6x Reaver Jetbikes w/2x Heat Lances, 2x Cluster Caltrops, Arena Champion

 Ravager w/FF
 Ravager w/FF
 Ravager w/FF

Thoughts and comparisons to my previous lists?

Also lots more warrior pics. Enjoy!!!

  1. With Reavers, you shouldn't be taking both Caltrops and Lances as it's more points and less uses of both. Stick to the one that fits best (probably Heat Lances) and get a fourth Blaster Trueborn.

  2. EDIT: I'd also use the spare points to invest in Ghostplate armour as a failsafe for the Archon.

  3. Hey Bryss. Thanks for the input. I know the Reavers aren't very points-efficient. I'd much rather take them just with Caltrops as I feel this is really the best use for them. The Lances are there more as a failsafe for some extra AT vs. mech-spam Guard or Wolves (really just guard). I'll most likely wind up dropping one or both caltrops though.

As far as the Ghostplate, have you had a chance to play with/without it? It's great for Vect as he's got 4W and can regenerate them so he doesn't get pasted by bolters and the like but I feel like the Archon really shouldn't be solo-ing with an Agonizer anyways (certainly without rerolls to wound for combat drugs). 90% of the time I'm praying for no aces on the Shadowfield vs. a Fist or something similar anyways I feel. However, I also haven't played enough with a regular Archon to know for myself. Thoughts?

  4. Epic victorious Dark Eldar is Epic.

In the realm of longterm input I think sites such as yours would draw even more interest if your lists and army thoughts include reasoning. I would like to see thoughts to the effect of:

"Around Boston many players are favoring small, elite forces over the MSU approach. This makes the inclusion of Caltrops on the Reavers even more important because it places "automatic" wounds on hard units whittling them down so my Incubi can assault."

    Context inspires contemplation.

  5. Thanks for the advice Atrotos. I'll definitely make sure to do so in the future.

Just wait for my next updates.... Spent all day today bringing ravagers up to speed, then went and bought a ravager, 2x Jetbikes, and more wyches

    MWAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

  6. I've mainly been using Drazhar as my HQ (rule of cool plus affordability of the rest of my army) so have had few opportunities to trial the 'Plate, but in my experience the Field will go wrong at some point, and it's helped me a lot when my opponent pours hundreds of shots into my Incubi.

In a nutshell, I take it because I'm a British pessimist who'd rather not take the chance.

  7. Haha I'm definitely with you in the "assume the dice will hate me" category. That way you're never disappointed. Played vs. Tyranids yesterday and whooped ass but had two hysterical rounds of shooting.

Round 1: Tervigon makes 6/8 5+ cover saves vs. darklances. Ridiculous.

Round 2: 6/7 Dark Lances hit and roll an ace to wound. Thank got for Splinter Cannons lol

  8. I once made 4 out of 6 6+ cover saves against a Stompa by making the sign of the cross before rolling the dice. Am I a bad person?
